Rich-
Do you have any video from before you started to work with Kelvin you are willing to share with us?
Forgot to mention that the swing looks REALLY good! I'm working hard with my lag trainer, too. Hope it pays off for me as well as it has for you and Lucas.

Nice move, Rich. Could you provide us more information on the lag trainer, how it attaches to the body, how to properly use it, any photos would be great also. I've seen video on the forum of Anina and one other using it but was hard to make out. I can't find anything on Kelvin's site about it...
What was your regimen like the two years to get to this point? How many lessons and how did you incorporate the micro moves over time? Was it imperative to pound balls or could you work on the mm's without hitting balls?

Thanks everyone for your kind words. It's late right now, but I promise to put my original flippy swing on Youtube and answer your questions tomorrow.
Thank you Jeff for starting this website. It's great to read and learn together.

Here are the two links. My old swing. Training with the lag trainer and chains. Most if not all of this work was done online with vids I sent Kelvin, Skype, and phone conversations. (I did see him twice, but once was very early on before he made most of his discoveries.) I think that Kelvin was discovering many new things as I was learning. So I basically just went for the ride and learned many of the micro moves as he was finding them. It is possible that I would have learned some of this faster, or gotten to quicker solutions in my swing with all he knows now. Maybe not... I did many reps inside as well as hit many balls. It takes many reps to ingrain new moves. In my opinion, using the video camera and analyzing lots of shots and lots of training is key. I never wanted to waste time ingraining incorrect moves. That's why I video the reps with clubs, w/o clubs, and with training devices. I have quite a reputation at my club with my camera. They don't get it... too bad for them. One other thing it that I do make sure that I continue to play so that I don't become too caught up in my golf swing and paralyze my mind. I learned that in my profession. It's very analogous. I really enjoy learning and the process. I always want to improve. Sorry to self indulge. I really have to credit Kelvin for his research and patience with me. I really believe that he is light years ahead of everybody and hope that he gets proper recognition.

I am not completely sure yet about the ball speed... I haven't checked the numbers, and it is very recent where I finally am putting it all together. Index is also a tough one to answer as well given that my short game was somewhat adversely affected during the changes. Kelvin's last article already has made a real difference in my short shots. I needed to read that article to assuage my guilt for flipping it around the greens. Now I realize that flipping it is essential sometimes. I used to be afraid that it would seep into my long game. It's all a part of my learning process. Once the weather warms up, i will get all that info to you. I have to say that my game is really starting to come on strong the little I played this month.

Rich--it looks like your current left hand is weaker or your preset left arm has changed orientation or its camera angle. Do you grip in the fingers or diagonally in the left palm? Also huge difference and lightbulb on how to eliminate the flip in the before/after of row 7; easy to see. Nice work.

Lag trainer, lateral bend plus rotation. Right elbow much lower now: Right shoulder closer to waist, right elbow more forward and hips are more open: Head back, hands ahead and hips open: Jeff

Yes, absolutely. Also look at this final side by side right up here. In the before, his left arm is turning over, soon to disconnect and his hands have to take over. In the after pic, Rich has retained the clockwise rotation of his left forearm, which he preset at the top, into impact and beyond. Retaining this CW position keeps his left arm tight to his torso, which allows the torso to rotate aggressively. This, in part, is how you get a flat or bowed wrist through impact but it must be driven by an aggressive rotation. You can't think your way to this position, it's fools gold and will cause a cascade of swing problems you won't soon dig out of.
Also I have to say, when I view side by sides of folks talking about what they're working on with their instructors usually it's hard to pick out visual evidence changes. Players talk about different feels, they're hitting the ball better, etc. And that's great if results are positive and trending up. With Kelvin's students, however, I seem compelling physical before/after differences and the one theme running through all of it is dynamism; swing like a reptile (KM's words). Hogan said the most important shot in golf is the tee shot. It should be powerful, aggressive and freewheeling. Kelvin has apparently taken that directive to heart.

If anything, I have strengthened my grip... especially the right hand... you see the flexion at address in the right hand as well having the grip higher on the right index finger. I do sometimes get weak with my left hand, but I don't think it is that much weaker in the after vid.
