2010 was my first season working with Kelvin. I had about 10 video lessons with him in 2010, with nine taking place in May, June and July, and the tenth in August. I have loaded to youtube a representative sample of those video lessons to give anyone who is interested some insight into how Kelvin teaches (and what kind of student I am, which is not particularly good!). The first few lessons will no doubt seem repetitive: it took a while for me to "re-awaken" my body to swinging athletically again. Things started to "click" in late July.
In 2010 we primarily worked on extending my turn and freeing up the spine; right side lateral bend in the downswing; "right elbow move" in the downswing: a combination of right shoulder external rotation and right arm transverse adduction, which tucks the right elbow in front of the chest; rotating the body vs. sliding the hips in the forward swing; bowing the left wrist to create a hands-forward impact; and cupping the left wrist in the follow-through vs. rolling the left forearm.
