Enjoy this hilarious thread before it is taken down: www.brianmanzella.com/golfing-discussions/16758-3d-motion-capture-resulting-measurements.htmlMy favorite quote from Mike Finney: HOWEVER, his partners (maybe not by choice but by circumstance) Miyahara and Martin (we will now refer to them as the M&Ms) have filibustered on the fact that their "elite" strikers of the ball have no decel in their most proximal body parts.
Well, how in the hell are we supposed to believe that contention when EVERY other 3D measurement company has said it happens and that the summation of speeds principle (proximal to distal sequencing) is in fact valid? How, Mike? By USING YOUR BRAIN and being a free-thinker. I told Brian months ago that the "scientists" would let him down and here is an example. Kelvin knew from his OBSERVATIONS using HIGH SPEED VIDEO that the decel theory didn't apply to some special golfers, so he knew the 3D machines had to, in some way, be measuring things wrong. Apparently, Finney and Manzella and the rest of the Academy don't study body movements in golf swings very much, so they just relied on what the "experts" told them. Bad idea. Jeff

Good lord...and supposedly everything out of my mouth is a 'joke.'
Anyway...I spoke to one instructor at the PGA Show and he was saying the same thing. In particular where these 3D machines place the sensors and how it can fool the user when looking at the readouts.
And this instructor is:
- Pro-3D machines - Works with them constantly for their research on the swing - has nothing to do with Brian and Co.
